Saunders Brothers Peach Picking 1970's

Peach Picking in the 1970’s

Nestled in beautiful Nelson County on the
“Sunrise Side” of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Saunders Brothers began as a partnership of five brothers in 1915. Today third generation brothers Tom, Bennett, Jim, and Robert, along with their Dad, Paul, operate the orchard, Farm Market, and nursery.

While celebrating their 100th anniversary, the Saunders Brothers Farm Market offers a fun place for the entire family to enjoy. From May to mid-December you can find a steady stream of fresh- picked fruit from our orchards and vegetable garden. In season they have tree-ripened peaches (early June to late September), apples, Asian Pears (starting mid-August), nectarines, and vegetables from the garden. They also offer a fine selection of jams, jellies, ciders, relishes, salsas, and dressings. Their homemade fruit pies, breads, and homemade hand-dipped ice cream will make a great treat for your ride home. In addition, plan your next meal around their very own home raised, hormone-free, and antibiotic-free beef and pork. If you enjoy local farm products, Saunders Brothers carries locally ground flour, local cheeses, and  local honey and molasses. If your yard needs some sprucing up, be sure to browse through their plant area stocked with fresh annuals, perennials, and woody shrubs from our nursery. While you are visiting the market, be sure to also visit the on-site museum, one of the largest privately-owned collections of farm antiques in the state of Virginia. Saunders Brothers 100 Year Anniversary
